More than 200 startup projects took part in the competitions. According to the results of the Tech Garden Cup, a prize of 500,000 tenge was received by the Buhta.kz project (accounting and online services), the Entrepreneurial and Industrial-Innovative Development Department of Almaty reported.

The event was opened by the deputy akim of Almaty, Almas Madiyev. He noted the high role of the festival for the development of an innovative ecosystem.

"This festival is one more step on the way to fulfilling the assignment of Elbasy, identified in the "100 Specific Steps Plan of the Nation" on the development of the innovation sector, the creation of a knowledge-based economy, and attracting investments in the technological branches of the economy. In addition, the city is actively working to provide state support to innovators. Within the framework of the Business Roadmap 2020 Program, we supported 31 entrepreneurs who received grants for 84 million tenge last year. In 2017, the number of winners of the grant doubled - up to 65. They received grant financing for 145 million tenge. We invite young entrepreneurs and start-uppers to participate in the program next year. The documents will be collected in May 2018," Almas Madiyev said.

According to the department, all winners of the competitions will be able to pass the acceleration of Almaty Tech Garden, which implies mentoring, networking, profile expertise, support in project promotion and equipping the work area. The most promising projects with high scaling potential will be selected for the international acceleration of Startup Kazakhstan. Its participants will receive investments of up to $ 100,000 and the opportunity to get trained in Silicon Valley (USA).

Let us recall that in the message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev to the people of Kazakhstan, special attention is paid to the growth of the well-being of the citizens of Kazakhstan, which is declared the main goal of state policy; private investments and projects aimed at "real results for the population" have a special role in it. The president also posed the task of creating a new model of economic growth, with education as the centerpiece.
