Astana hosted the 8th meeting of the Kazakhstan-China Cooperation Committee

First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Askar Mamin held talks with Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Zhang Gaoli, in the framework of the 8th meeting of the Kazakh-Chinese Cooperation Committee in Astana.

Astana. 19 April. Kazakhstan Today - First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Askar Mamin held talks with Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Zhang Gaoli, in the framework of the 8th meeting of the Kazakh-Chinese Cooperation Committee in Astana.

The parties discussed the state and prospects of a comprehensive strategic partnership, topical issues of bilateral relations, including trade-economic, energy, industrial-innovative, scientific-technical, financial, transport-logistical, agricultural, military-technical, cross-border and regional cooperation.

During the meeting, the interlocutors stressed the importance of implementing the Cooperation Plan on the interface of the new economic policy "Nurly Zhol" with the "Economic belt of the Silk Road", which was signed in September 2016 by the leaders of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the PRC and the joint Kazakh-Chinese program of industrial and investment cooperation.

The 8th meeting of the Kazakhstan-China Cooperation Committee was held under the chairmanship of First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Askar Mamin and Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Zhang Gaoli.

A. Mamin, speaking at the meeting, noted the dynamic development of comprehensive strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the PRC.

"The implementation of the Cooperation Plan on the interface of the new economic policy" Nurly Zhol" with the" Economic belt of the Silk Road "opens up great prospects for our countries in the field of development of transit-transport cooperation, trade, manufacturing industry," Mamin said and emphasized the importance of Kazakhstan-China program of industrial-innovative cooperation.

The First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan noted a qualitatively new level of investment cooperation. Chinese companies in partnership with Kazakh companies are actively investing in joint projects.

The volume of trade increased by 30% and amounted to 1.3 billion dollars for the first quarter of 2017, compared to the same period in 2016.

At present, 51 projects in the field of industry, innovation, transport and logistics for a total of 27 billion dollars are being implemented.

An important area of ??cooperation, taking into account the growth of transit traffic between Kazakhstan and the PRC, is the transport and logistics sector. Kazakhstan actively develops transport infrastructure to create conditions for the further development of transportation along the Great Silk Road rout. It was noted that the volume of container traffic increased by 2.6 times for the 1st quarter of 2017 as compared to the same period in 2016.

Deputy Prime Minister of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Zhang Gaoli also noted the dynamism of development of Kazakh-Chinese relations on a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation and expressed confidence that "the 8th meeting of the Cooperation Committee will give a new impetus to strengthening friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership between the two states."

"We must develop cooperation in a practical way, create all conditions for achieving real results for the benefit of our countries and for the benefit of the two peoples," Zhang Gaoli said.

A teleconference between Kostanay and Astana was held at the meeting of the Committee. During the conference, the serial production of ANKAI buses and crossovers was launched at the production site of Saryarka Auto Prom LLP.

During the meeting, the reports of chairmen of the subcommittees were heard.

Within the framework of EXPO-2017, it is planned to hold the "Year of China's Tourism in Kazakhstan" and July 5 - the national day of China in Astana.

At the end of the event, A. Mamin and Zh. Gaoli signed the Protocol of the 8th meeting of the Kazakhstan-China Cooperation Committee.
