Astana. 19 September. Kazakhstan Today - According to preliminary results of social and economic development of Kazakhstan, for 8 months of this year it accelerated to 4.3%. This was said by Vice Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Ruslan Dalenov at the session of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"After slight slowdown (4.0%) in June, the economic growth, according to preliminary estimates, accelerated to 4.3% in the first eight months of this year. Foreign trade has grown by almost a third, inflation has slowed and is within the target corridor. Against this background, rating agencies Moody's and S & P improved the outlook for a sovereign credit rating from negative to stable", R. Dalenov said.

The Vice-Minister has also noted positive changes in the non-primary sector of economy.

"High dynamics of growth is observed in four basic sectors out of six (industry, trade, transportation and warehousing, information and communication), slowing of growth is seen in construction and agriculture. The highest growth rate is demonstrated by industry, amounting to 8.5% as a result of synchronous growth in mining by 11.3% and processing by 6.1%. This is the maximum growth for the last 6 years. Among the mining industry, double-digit growth was recorded in coal and lignite (up 13.2%), oil (12.2%), natural gas (10.9%), and metal ore (10.8%). In the manufacturing industry, the growth trend is observed in the production of food products (the increase of 5.8%), light industry (11.5%), pharmaceuticals (33.7%), metallurgy (7.6%), refining (6.4%) and machine building (6.3%)", R. Dalenov informed.

He also noted that growth in agriculture, having peaked at 3.1% in June, slowed to 1.9% in January-August this year as a result of a decrease in the output of crop production (-1.1%). The decline was partly leveled by an increase in livestock production (3.2%) as a result of an increase in slaughter and poultry slaughter (4.9%), cow's milk production (2.8%) and chicken eggs (4.0%).

"The growth of the construction industry, increasing to 5.9% in the first half of the year, slowed sharply in July (0.7%) and approached the zero value for the first 8 months to 0.1%. Slowing down of the industry is associated with a decrease in the construction of industrial buildings and structures by 1.1% (share - 67.0%) and residential buildings - by 0.8% (share - 9.6%). At the same time, there was an increase in road construction and road construction by 4.2% (share - 23.4%). In the regional context, almost everywhere there is a positive dynamics of growth in terms of key indicators. So, in agriculture everywhere there is an increase from 0.3% to 5.6%", the Vice-Minister said.

According to him, against the resumption of business activity in the manufacturing sector, there is a gradual entry into the trajectory of stable growth in the service sector.

"For 8 months of this year, transportation services increased by 4.7%, trade and communications increased by 2.9%", R. Dalenov added.
