Government reviewed the implementation of the State Program for Education and Science Development for 2016-2019

Total amount of 418 562.9 million tenge have been allocated for its implementation in 2017. Since the beginning of the implementation of the SPESD, 1309 pre-school institutions have been opened, 155 schools have been built.

At the meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan chaired by the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev, the Minister of Education and Science Yerlan Sagadiyev reported on the implementation of the State Program for Education and Science Development for 2016-2019.

As the Minister noted, in 2017, 8 indicators, 51 objectives, 168 events of the State Program for Education and Science Development for 2016-2019 are scheduled to be implemented.

Total amount of 418 562.9 million tenge have been allocated for its implementation in 2017. Since the beginning of the implementation of the SPESD, 1309 pre-school institutions have been opened, 155 schools have been built.

The qualitative composition of the pedagogical staff of pre-school organizations with special education has increased for 1500 teachers. The number of pedagogical workers of the highest and first category is 145 thousand people.

The content of pre-school and school education has been updated in compliance with the OECD standards, colleges and universities are implementing 92 new programs developed with the participation of international experts and employers.

In the pilot mode, the process of distributing children through kindergartens is being automated. In 2018, a full-scale implementation of the system is planned. To simplify the procedure for opening kindergartens, new sanitary norms and rules have been adopted.

Until the end of the year, 76 schools are planned to put into operation instead of three-shift and emergency ones. As of September 1, 52 schools have been put into operation.

In 318 colleges, the project "Free Vocational Education for All" is being implemented. 421 colleges are introducing dual training with the participation of 2 433 enterprises, 27,193 students of 160 qualifications in 80 specialties are involved.

The institutes have instituted a mechanism for electing rectors through supervisory boards, creating corporate secretaries and internal audit services. Eight Kazakhstani universities were awarded in the ranking of the world's best universities QS WUR in 2017.

"In September this year, within the framework of the first summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Science and Technology, the OIC Program on Science, Technology and Innovation was developed and adopted until 2026," Y. Sagadiyev reported.
