Astana. 1 June. Kazakhstan Today - The main task of the Ministry of Energy is not to allow a deficit and to ensure the saturation of the fuel market, Energy Minister Kanat Bozumbayev said speaking during the meeting with the population.

"The main task of the Ministry of Energy is not to allow a deficit and to ensure the saturation of the fuel market. And prices are regulated by the market itself. We live in a market economy. Kazakhstan borders on five countries, in four of which, with the exception of Turkmenistan, the level of prices for filling stations is much higher. If we want to low prices, we must understand that in this case the fuel will be limited. And this is a simple law of a market economy", the Minister stressed.

At the same time, the Minister particularly expressed his opinion on the prices for gasoline in Kazakhstan.

"I will not compare fuel prices in European countries with prices in Kazakhstan, because I fully understand that the level of income is also very different. But, I can say with confidence that Kazakhstan has one of the lowest prices for gasoline among the CIS countries. On the part of the Ministry, I answer that we will strive for transparency of pricing and create economically viable conditions for the supply of oil to the domestic market. To this end, we are considering a number of documents, such as the development of exchange trade in oil products and the future change in the tax policy", K. Bozumbayev said.

Also, the Minister noted that for more than a year there was no shortage of fuels and lubricants in the country. In January-April this year, refining at three refineries grew by 107% (4.5 million tons), domestic gas supply in domestic gasoline was 77.5%, in diesel fuel - 98.9%, and aviation kerosene - 39%.

At the same time, projects on gasification of population are continuing in the gas sector.

Kanat Bozumbayev mentioned that over 8 million citizens have access to gas, which is 46.3%. The target indicator for Kazakhstan is to achieve the level of gasification of the country 56% by 2030. The "Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent" gas pipeline was built and is in operation. Also, with the commissioning of additional capacities, a technical opportunity appeared to supply domestic gas for export to China.
