Kazakhstan budget fulfilled due to taxes - Kazakh Finance Minister

In 2017, the income of the government budget was more than 7 trillion tenge.
Kazakh Finance Minister summarized the results of the Ministry’s activity for 2017 and announced plans for the next year.

For the report financial year, the amount of income to the government budget (without transfers) is more than 7 trillion tenge. The plan was overfulfilled by 102.2%. The increase to the next year is 700 billion tenge or 11%. The plan’s fulfillment mainly occurred because of the increase of tax payments," said Bakhyt Sultanov, Finance Minister of Kazakhstan.


According to the head of the Ministry, payments from facilities of small- and medium-sized business increased by 8% or by 216 billion tenge. And, their number increased by 6.4% or 12.1 thousand legal entities (in 2016 – 188 377, and in 2017 – 200 494).

According to the Minister, the Ministry also reached a record fulfilment of the expenditure side.

Expenditures of the republican and local budgets are fulfilled by 99.8% and 99.6%, respectively, which is higher compared to the last year (in 2016, republican budget – 98.3% and local budgets – 99.2%). Such a result was reached because of effective budgetary planning and its fulfillment," he noted.


As the Minister noted, the social sphere remains the budget’s priority. The share of social expenditures in the budget increased from 49.8% in 2016 to 51.5% in 2017, that is, more than a half of budgetary funds are directed to the social sphere by the state.

Earlier, the Minister told that as of January 1, 2018 the government debt of the country was 13.5 trillion tenge.
