Kazakhstan citizens spent KZT220bn in a year on advertising and marketing services

In January-December of 2017, services in the advertising and market research reached 220.2 billion tenge – by 21.2% more than a year earlier, Energyprom reports.

Traditionally, the largest amount of services is concentrated in the financial center – in Almaty: 83.5%, 183.9 billion tenge, it is by 21.9% higher than a year ago. The majority of agencies providing advertising and marketing services throughout Kazakhstan is in Almaty. There are such large advertising agencies as Region-Media, Project-2, Human & Horse Pia, PromoMax, the Acnielsen Kazakhstan research company and the RA GForce Gray international company, affiliated with the international network Grey Global Group (USA), etc.

In 2017, the agency GForce Gray took the first place in the "Creativity and Mastery Rating", which is annually published the professional resource AdAsia, determining the most awarded creative advertising agencies, branding and design bureaus, Digital and SMM agencies of the Central Asian region. There are many awards in the agency money box. For example, its viral advertising campaign "Racoon-dishwasher" created for the brand Kaspi.kz brought a 41% increase in sales. It also brought numerous awards at international advertising festivals in the CIS and Europe, including "gold" at the festival of marketing effectiveness of Silver Mercury in Moscow.

88.8% of adverting and marketing services fall on the activity of advertising agencies, 9% fall on the research of market conditions and public opinion, and 2.2% fall on the presenting of information to the media.

The urban area had 99.6% of the whole volume of services – 219.3 billion tenge. Of which, 12.3% was provided at the expense pf the population.

It is notable that salaries in the sector increased at the same time with the increase in the volumes of services.

Thus, workers in this sector in 2017 earned on average 182.5 thousand tenge per month that is by 24.9% more than a year ago in money terms and by 16.3% in real terms with taking into account the inflation. At the same time, on average the purchasing power of salaries decreased by 2.1% throughout the country.

In 2017, workers of the adverting and marketing sector earned by 22% more than the average salary in Kazakhstan.
