Kazakhstan plans to recover small aviation services

Local executive bodies have submitted proposals for the recovery of 16 local airports. We want to renew ties: district - region, region - country. Today, funds for the planned renovation and construction are envisaged by the state program.

Almaty. July 30. Kazakhstan Today - In Kazakhstan, it is planned to revive the local air traffic network at the level of districts and regions, according to the chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport and Communications Beken Seidakhmetov.

"Local executive bodies have submitted proposals for the recovery of 16 local airports. We want to renew ties: district - region, region - country. Today, funds for the planned renovation and construction are envisaged by the state program," said Beken Seidakhmetov in an exclusive interview for the Prime Minister's official website.

Regarding the mechanism of the implementation of these plans, the head of the committee explained that local akimats developed feasibility studies and estimates at the expense of their own budgets. Reconstruction and construction of runways will be held at the expense of national resources, the construction of airport terminals is planned with the involvement of business in terms of public-private partnership, and the organization of transportation will be carried out with the help of subsidies from local budgets.

"We won't be able to build good roads in all parts of the country, so air service will be a good alternative, by the experience of Canada, Australia, where small aviation services are well developed," the head of the Committee emphasized.
