Subsistence minimum totalled at KZT26 440 in December 2018

A 3.3% rise compared to December of 2017.
According to data of the Statistics Committee of the Kazakh National Economy, the amount of the subsistence minimum as of December last year was 26 440 tenge.

There was a 3.3% rise in the average per capita subsistence minimum compared to December 2017.

This figure is calculated taking into account the minimum rates of consumption of the main food products.

In December 2017, the share of expenditures for meat and fish accounted for 20.5%; that of milk, butter products and eggs - 16.3%, fruits and vegetables - 8.3%, bread and cereals - 7.6%, sugar, tea and spice - 2.3%.

Subsistence minimum is a minimum income of a person that is identical in value of the sum of the minimum consumer basket, including a minimum set of food products, goods, and services necessary for human life in both physical and monetary terms.
