The volume of bilateral trade of Member States of the Customs Union in January-April 2013 decreased by 10% compared to the same period in 2012 - to $ 20.4 billion, as reported yesterday in the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

"The decline in the volume of bilateral trade due to a significant reduction in the supply of petroleum products from the Russian Federation to the Republic of Belarus (after almost four times their growth in January-April 2012 compared to the same period in 2011). Excluding energy products the volume of bilateral trade between the CU member and EEC remained at the level of January-April 2012 (100.4%)," said the Commission.

Between Russia and Belarus, mutual trade decreased by 15.5% to $ 12.9 billion, between Russia and Kazakhstan increased by 1.9% to $ 7.2 billion, Belarus and Kazakhstan fell by 12.2%, to $ 251, 5 million.

In addition, the volume of foreign trade of states-members of the Customs Union and Common Economic Space with third countries in January-April 2013 amounted to $ 297.1 billion, including export - $ 189.9 billion, import - $ 107.2 billion. Compared to the same period in 2012, foreign trade volume decreased by 1.3%, or $ 4 billion.

The value of exports of goods decreased by 5.8% or $ 11.6 billion, imports increased by 7.7%, or $ 7.7 billion.

Foreign trade balance showed a surplus of $ 82.7 billion in January-April 2012, its value was $ 102 billion.

In particular, exports of Russia during the period in third countries fell by 3.5% - to $ 157.3 billion and imports increased by 6.3%, to $ 92.4 billion foreign trade balance was positive at $ 64.9 billion.

Belarus exports fell by 35.0% - to $ 7.3 billion, imports grew by 22.1%, to $ 6.2 billion, the balance was also positive - $ 1.1 billion.

Kazakhstan exports fell by 7.4% - to $ 25.3 billion, imports rose by 14.5%, to $ 8.6 billion, the surplus was $ 16.7 billion.
