Website of Kazakhstan's Supreme Judicial Council hacked

Over the past day, 300 Kazakhstan websites have been hacked.
According to the centre for analysis and investigation of cyber-attacks, 4 websites from the domain zone GOV.KZ and about 300 Kazakhstan websites were hacked by hackers over the past 24 hours. The tool of hackers was the CMS Drupal version 7 and 8, the official page of the center for analysis and investigation of cyber-attacks in Facebook reports.

Despite our warnings about the need to update the software, the "WebTotem" system detected about 300 hacking sites since the first release of the hacker tool. Hackers did not replace the main page on the hacked resources, apparently while placing a special software for remote management on them. It is important to note that hackers have access not only to the data stored on the website and the local network of the server, they can also intercept visitor data or conduct counter-attacks," they said in the center for analysis and investigation of cyber-attacks.

According to the center, the websites of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan (vss.gov.kz), several regional websites (uspenka.gov.kz, ontustik-shardara.gov.kz, ontustik-aris.gov.kz) have been hacked from the GOV.KZ domain zone, as well as the website of the city of Temirtau (temirtau.kz).

Experts say that full-fledged work of cyber shield is possible only with constant monitoring of all Kaznet, and not only "important" state websites. But, even this approach, as we see, does not help today.

The center for analysis and investigation of cyber-attacks recommended all owners of websites, who use Drupal, to urgently update to versions 8.5.1, 8.4.6 or 7.5.8, in accordance with the current installed version.
