Head of State presented Governor to Akmola region's asset

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev held a meeting with Akmola region's assets on the social and economic development, Akorda reported.

Astana. 14 March. Kazakhstan Today - Opening the meeting the Head of State presented newly appointed Governor of the region M. Murzalin, whose candidature was agreed with the maslikhat of the region at an extraordinary session.

Speaking before region's assets, the President of Kazakhstan noted the positive growth of region's economy in a number of indicators, including industry, agricultural production, the volume of attracted investments and housing construction.

"Having survived three powerful crises, we have maintained the stability in the country and develop further. We have accumulated a national reserve, which allowed us to overcome the economic difficulties. Now we face a new task within the framework of the implementation of the Address "Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness" to achieve the goal of joining 30 developed countries of the world", N. Nazarbayev said.

The Head of State noted the rapid development of technology in the conditions of the coming new reality in the world and emphasized the need for applying new knowledge and approaches to the implementation of the tasks set in the Address.

The President of Kazakhstan stressed the importance of implementing industrialization and infrastructure development programs both in the region and throughout the country.

"In the coming years 7 thousand km of highways will be built in Kazakhstan. All regions will be connected by first-class highways. It will remain forever, for our children and grandchildren. In addition, work is under way to restore airports, the construction of 2 sea ports in the Caspian Sea is carried out. All programs implemented in the country assume the use of new approaches", N. Nazarbayev said.

The President also set a number of tasks for M. Murzalin on further development of the agricultural sector of the region. In particular, the President of Kazakhstan noted the importance of developing the agro-industrial complex by creating agricultural cooperatives, increasing productivity through the use of scientific potential, micro-credit of agriculture and activation of SMEs.

The Head of State also highlighted the tourism potential of the region in the context of the forthcoming international exhibition EXPO-2017.

In conclusion, Nursultan Nazarbayev wished all the participants a fruitful year and good luck at the upcoming spring field work.
