Kazakh Mazhilis Speaker received Japanese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Ichiro Kawabata

During the meeting, the sides noted the mutual interest in developing the trade and economic and investment cooperation.
Today the Chamber's Chairman Nurlan Nigmatulin has received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Kazakhstan Ichiro Kawabata, a press office of the Mazhilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan informs.

During the meeting, Nurlan Nigmatulin underlined the strategic nature of the relations between Kazakhstan and Japan, which was greatly boosted, according to the speaker, by the visit of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Having noted the interest of the two states in developing the trade and economic and investment cooperation, Nurlan Nigmatulin underlined the recent active interaction between Kazakh and Japanese parliamentarians. The Mazhilis Chairman also expressed confidence that the joint constructive efforts with Japanese colleagues would facilitate the further strengthening of multilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Japan.

In his turn, Japanese Ambassador Ichiro Kawabata speaking of his work in Kazakhstan noted that the period coincided with the important event for Kazakhstan: the 25th anniversary of the independence, 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Japan, EXPO 2017, the 20th anniversary of Astana.

The Japanese diplomat highly appraised the development of interparliamentary relations of Kazakhstan and Japan, and that, according to Itiro Kawabata, enables to carry out the agreements reached at the highest level.

Itiro Kawabata noted the support of Kazakh parliamentarians in the holding of many international events, targeted particularly at young people.

The Japanese Ambassador expressed the hope that the Kazakh-Japanese parliamentary relations would be further enhanced.
