Meeting on holding EXPO-2017 international exhibition chaired by the Head of State

Kazakhstan Today - The meeting was attended by Adilbek Dzhaksybekov, Head of the Presidential Administration, Vladimir Zhumakanov, Assistant to the President - Secretary of the Security Council, Zhakip Asanov, Prosecutor General, Amantay Kurenbekov, Chief of the State Security Service, Saken Zhasuzakov, Minister of Defense, Kalmukhanbet Kasimov, Minister of Internal Affairs, Gabit Baizhanov, Director of "Syrbar" External intelligence Service, Asset Issekeshev, Astana akim, Akhmetzhan Yessimov, Chairman of "Astana Expo-2017" JSC Board, and Samat Abish, First Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee.

During the meeting, the general procedures for holding EXPO-2017international exhibition and the safety aspect of citizens and visitors to the capital city during this period were given consideration to.

The President of Kazakhstan noted a significant amount of work done as part of preparing and high quality holding the forthcoming event.

- We have come very close to the key moment - the exhibition opening. A large number of visitors are expected to arrive in the capital of Kazakhstan. At this stage 1.2 million tickets have already been sold for a visit to EXPO 2017, which is much more than expected, the Head of State said.

Nursultan Nazarbayev has also uderscored that taking into account fragile situation in the world, during the exhibition it is important to ensure a high level of security for guests and the public at large not only in Astana, but also in all its regions. Each leader is personally responsible for this.

Following the meeting, the Head of State has given a number of specific instructions.
