Meeting with Anatoly Smolin, the Supreme Judicial Council Chairman
Astana. 20 January. Kazakhstan Today - During the meeting A.Smolin informed the President about the activity results of the Supreme Judicial Council for 2016 as well as on the implementation of "100 Specific Steps" NationИs Plan in terms of optimizing the screening mechanism.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the Supreme Judicial CouncilИs special role in the undertaken work on selecting high-quality personnel, in accordance with the new rules and enacted laws, emphasizing the inadmissibility of interference in its activities by other institutions.
- We have created the first independent Supreme Judicial Council for complete objectivity and non-interference. We are currently shortlisting the judges in pursuance of new regulations and new laws, the President of Kazakhstan said.
A.Smolin reported on accomplishment of Step 17 of the NationИs Plan making provision for tightening qualification requirements and a judge selection order.
- Summarizing the results of the conducted work for the position of a judge are appointed the persons with significant professional and life experience, A.Smolin said.
The Council Chief has also informed on progress made in solving the tasks set by the President of Kazakhstan at the VII Congress of Judges.
The meeting resulted in the instructions of the President to carry out further work on betterment of the staff management in the judicial system.
