Russian President to visit Kazakhstan on May 28-29

The Russian President will visit Astana to participate jointly with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council - the supreme body of the Customs Union and Common Economic Space of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, stated in the report on the website of the President of the Russian Federation.

Almaty. May 27. Kazakhstan Today - President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will pay a working visit to Kazakhstan on May 28-29, Kazakhstan Today reports.

The Russian President will visit Astana to participate jointly with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council - the supreme body of the Customs Union and Common Economic Space of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, stated in the report on the website of the President of the Russian Federation.

During the meeting, priority will be given to the further development of integration and interaction and the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union by January 1, 2015, the report says.

"The Presidents of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan will discuss the progress of the orders on the functioning of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space. They will assess the ongoing work on the codification of international treaties that form the legal basis of the integration of these associations," the press service informed.

According to media reports, the signing of documents during the informal summit is not planned; formal meeting of CSTO is traditionally held at the end of the year in Moscow.

After the meeting the Heads of the three states will meet with the leaders of Ukraine, which is seeking for the Customs Union observer status, and Kyrgyzstan, which in 2011 applied for accession to the Customs Union.
