Senate has approved a Plan of Principal Measures for 2019

The Senate's representatives in international parliamentary organizations and the Senate's groups on cooperation with foreign Parliaments have also been chosen.
The final meeting of the Senate Bureau in 2018 chaired by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took place, during which an agenda of the Chamber's upcoming meeting on December 27 was agreed upon, a press service of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan informs.

The following draft laws will be submitted to Senate deputies for consideration: on the ratification of the Kazakhstan-Croatia Interparliamentary agreement on the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of avoidance of taxation in respect of income taxes and the Protocol thereto; On the ratification of the Kazakhstan-China Interparliamentary Agreement on tax exemption for some types of income of the China-Kazakhstan Fund of cooperation between production capabilities that are direct investors in Kazakhstan; On the introduction of amendments to some constitutional laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the administrative and territorial organization of the Republic of Kazakhstan; On the introduction of amendments and additions to some legislative acts on the administrative and territorial organization of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the prevention of the shadow economy; On the introduction of amendments and additions to some legislative acts on enhancing the protection of rights of property, arbitrage, optimizing the case-load and further humanizing the criminal law.

The Bureau's members have approved a Plan of Principal Measures of the Senate for 2019 and chosen the Senate's representatives in international parliamentary organizations and the Senate's groups on cooperation with foreign Parliaments. The Commission for Cooperation between the Senate of Parliament and the Council of the Republic of Belarus have established sub-commissions for cooperation development in the area of innovation.

Summing up the passing year, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has underlined that the Senate carried out substantive, meaningful work, as well as the laws aimed at implementing the reforms of the Head of State passed on time.

A total of 80 draft laws have been considered at the Senate's meetings, 72 of which have been passed, and 8 have been submitted to the Mazhilis for further development.

Around 70 important events on urgent themes have been held, following which the executive bodies have been given specific recommendations, over 100 queries addressed to the deputies have been received.

We have already placed the Government's attention to that fact that a majority of the replies did not entirely satisfactory," said the Senate Chairman.


He has underlined that the pace of legislative work will be intensified in the next year, and a package of draft laws aimed at implementing the instructions of the President will be submitted to the Parliament.

It is necessary to improve the domestic legislation, the performance. This is our main objective," said the Senate's Head.
