Cargo ship starts up successfully from the Baikonur cosmodrome

The launch was carried out from the launch complex of the Soyuz carrier rocket (platform No. 31) of the Baikonur cosmodrome and passed in normal mode.
February 13, 2018 at 14:13 Astana time from the Baikonur cosmodrome the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with the Progress-MS-08 cargp ship was successfully launched, the press service of the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan reports.

The Progress-MS-08 cargo ship is to deliver to the International Space Station (ISS) the cargo necessary for the life support of the crews and the functioning of the station: fuel components, oxygen, equipment for scientific experiments, medical supplies, containers with food and water, spare parts for the ISS crew," says the message.

The Progress-MS-08 was developed by the Russian rocket and space corporation "Energia named after S.P. Korolev" and belongs to a series of transport unmanned cargo ships for entering orbit by means of the Soyuz carrier rocket to supply the orbital stations.
