In Kazakhstan, number of unemployed youth decreased by 10%

At the same time, the number of suicides among youth decreased by 8.2%.
Over a year, the number of unemployed youth decreased from 92.8 thousand people to 83.7 thousnad people. It was said by Vice Minister of Religious Affairs and Civil Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the press conference in the Cetral Communications Service.

In 2017, the number of unemployed youth decreased by 10% compared to 2016, that is the number of unemployed youth decreased by 9.1 thousand people. If in 2016 it was 92.8 thousand people, then following 2017, it made up 83.7 thousand people," he said.


He noted that the level of youth unemployment over the last year decreased from 4.1% to 3.9%. The share of NEET youth (the generation of youth, that because of various reasons, whether economic, social or political ones do not work and do not study) over the year decreased from 9.2% to 8.7%.

According to him, decreased in the number of violations among the youth of 3.6% is observed.

At the same time, the Vice Minister informed that the number of suicides among the youth decreased by 8.2%.

Abzal Nukenov also underlined the positive dynamics and increase in the level of the youth’s awareness of the programs, projects and relevant youth organizations.

Over the year, the indicators increased on average by 8-10%. Following 2017, it made up 27%, and as you can see, there is a positive dynamic, the awareness level is not big itself," he said.
