Supreme Mufti congratulates Kazakhstan citizens on Eid al-Adha

The first day of Eid al-Adha falls on Tuesday August 21.
Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of Kazakhstan, Supreme Mufti Serikbay kazhy Oraz congratulated Kazakhstan citizens on holy days of Eid al-Adha, KazTag reports with a reference to a press service of the Administration.

Dear brother! Congratulate everyone on one of the main holy days of Muslims - Eid al-Adha! May Eid al-Adha will be blessed! Wish your families health, well-being and prosperity! Eid al-Adha is one of the significant holidays of Muslim Ummah. Our people have been treating this holiday with trembling during many decades, therefore they prepare for the holiday with a special thrill. During the holiday all relatives visit each others to express their warm wishes and blessings," the press service cites the speech of Oraz.

According to him, all this, visiting relatives, warm welcome of guests, receiving blessings of olders, is a kind tradition of Kazakhstan citizens that is passed from generation to generation.

During this day, Muslims by performing sacrifices to God show their good intentions and worship. Because, the Quran says: "It is neither their flesh nor their blood (of these sacrifices) which matters to Allвh but it is guarding against evil and devotion to duty on your part that matters to Him." (Surah Haji Ayat-37). Sacrificing is an obligation of any Muslim who can afford it and who is not on road. During this holy day it is advisable to provide aid to those in need and the families with low salaries," the Mufti says.

As he notes, one can sacrifice camels, cows or shoop. One sheep or one goat is sacrificed from one person. And, cattle or camels can be sacrificed from seven people. Then the meat is distributed among relatives, neighbors or those in need.

Eid al-Adha is the holiday of well-being and generosity, forgiveness and mercy. During this day, it is important to bear generosity in mind, therefore to pay attention to elders and delight other people and provision of aid to those in need is a nice deed. In this connection, on the occasion of this holy day, I call our compatriots to actively take part in all charitable activities and events. Let Allah hear our prays and see our deeds, as well as our sacrifices! Let all prays of our compatriots to be accepted who are in the holy land of Mecca praying for prosperity of our people, let their worshiping - Hajj - to be accepted! Congratulate on Eid al-Adha!" said Oraz.
