Survey: Demand for services of Kazakhstan's general practitioners falls

Alone Astana and Almaty witness the increase in the volume of the medical services provided.
The first reception by the doctor has increased by 8% over the year. And, the wages of doctors and medical works increase inconsiderably - +2%, which taking into account the inflation means the increase in purchasing power by 4% year-by-year, Energyprom.kz reports.

Over the first three months of 2018, the medical services for 241.9 billion tenge, that is by 3.6% less that a year ago, have been provided in healthcare.

In the background of the decrease, Kazakhstan has the two largest cities with an increase: in Almaty – by 1.8% over the year, to 42.8 billion tenge (that is 17.7% of the share of Kazakhstan, against 16.8% a year ago), in Astana – by 2.4% over the year, to 36.7 billion tenge (15.2% of the share of Kazakhstan, against 14.3% a year ago).

At the same time, services of general practitioners decrease (a decrease of 12.9% over the year), the specialized services remain demanded: among medical specialists - +10.7% over the year, and among dentists – by +16.8%.

Services of the hospitals decreased by 0.2%. And services of the rehabilitation centres have increased by 14% over the year, gynecological clinics and maternity homes – by 7.2%, psychiatric clinics – by 6.3%.

By the end of May, the first reception by the doctor was 2.4 thousand tenge, by 8.4% higher than a year ago. And, services of dentists have increased by 7.6% in price, or instance, the tooth removal – to 3.3 thousand tenge.

Massage of the neck and collar zone increased in price by 8.15 over the year, to 916 tenge per therapy. Services of the sanitoriums – by 6%, to 9.8 thousand tenge per day.

Abdominal ultrasound in May costed averagely around the country 2.8 thousand tenge, by 6.2% higher that a year ago.

CBC increased in price by 5.7%, to 878 tenge, urine test – by 4.9%, to 619 tenge.

Despite the increase in prices for medical services, the wages in healthcare and social services following the 1st quarter of 2018 have reached 101.8 thousand tenge, that is by 2.1% higher than a year ago, and taking into account the inflation the purchasing power of the wages decreased by 4.2% year-by-year.
