Kazakhstan to participate in two types of sport in the Paralympic Games in PyeongChang

The Kazakhstan national team gained nine licenses and is represented in two types of sport.
Kairat Kanafin for North Kazakhstan region will bear the Kazakhstan’s flag at the Winter Paralympic Games in PeyingChang (South Korea), the press service of the National Paralympic Committee reports.

Athletes of the Paralympic national team of Kazakhstan are in the base "Alatau" in Talgar. On March 5 the team departures from Almaty in the Games in PyeongChang.

The Paralympic Games in PyeongChang are very important for athletes of the Paralympic team, despite the fact that some athletes participate in the Games for the first time. For instance, Zhanyl Baltabayeva, Kairat Kanafin, Aleksandr Kolyadin and Sergei Usoltsev participated in the Paralympic Games in Sochi-2014. And Sergei Usoltsev had a chance to participate in the Summer Paralympic Games in Athens-2014 (athletics), and now he participates in the national winter team," says the press release.


This year in PyeongChang 80 sets of Paralympic medals will be played. The program includes six disciplines (skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, ice hockey, snowboarding, curling on wheelchairs).

The Kazakhstani national team received licenses and is represented in the two types of sport: skiing and biathlon.
