Astana. November 6. Kazakhstan Today - During the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, to Italy, the officials signed the strategic partnership contract between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Italian Republic, the agency reports citing official mass media.
N. Nazarbayev, during his official visit to Italy, met the Prime Minister of Italy, Silvio Berlusconi. Following the results of the bilateral negotiations, the officials signed strategic partnership contract between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Italian Republic.
The Secretary of State - Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Kanat Saudabayev, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Ex Frattini, signed the document.
"Goods turnover between Kazakhstan and Italy is 30 % of goods turnover between Kazakhstan and the European Union and exceeds 14 billion KZT. Italy has invested in the economy of Kazakhstan $6 - 7 billion. As of today, 97 joint ventures work in Kazakhstan," the head of state said. In this context, N. Nazarbayev noted fruitfulness of the negotiations taken place during his visit.
S. Berluskoni thanked the President of Kazakhstan for his contribution to development of friendship between Kazakhstan and Italy.
