12 small hydroelectric power stations to be constructed in Tajikistan in the end of 2008

12 small hydroelectric power stations will be constructed in the mountain areas of Tajikistan in the end of 2008 with financial support of foreign investors, the agency reports referring to Asia Plus agency.

Dushanbe. August 1. Kazakhstan Today - 12 small hydroelectric power stations will be constructed in the mountain areas of Tajikistan in the end of 2008 with financial support of foreign investors, the agency reports referring to Asia Plus agency.

According to assistant chief engineer of JSC Holding Company Barki Tochik, Rashid Gulov, "eight projects on construction of small hydroelectric power stations in Tajikistan are being realized together with the government and the Kuwaiti Fund of Development for a total sum of $11.6 million. $9.2 million has been allocated by the fund and $2.4 million - Tajikistan government."

R. Gulov noted that four more projects on construction of small hydroelectric power stations in the mountain regions of the Republic are being realized due to financial UNDP funds.
