30 mln ha of agricultural lands to be inventoried in 2012

Office studies were already conducted at 62% of lands. The scheduled land inspections are planned to be completed by October 2012.

Almaty. August 14. Kazakhstan Today - An inventory of 30 mln ha of agricultural lands will be carried out this year, Kazakhstan Today reports.

"Office studies were already conducted at 62% of lands. The scheduled land inspections are planned to be completed by October 2012", Chairman of the Agency for Land Resources Management Kadirkhan Otarov said at the Government session, the Prime Minister's official website writes.

Totally, the agricultural lands inventory will last from 2012 through 2014. It is divided into three stages and all agricultural lands are to be inventoried over these three stages.

As a result of the land inventory, 3.5 mln ha or 51% of 7 mln ha of lands subjected to the inventory were transferred to human use.

"We achieved such results for the first time. These results were achieved thanks to Almaty, Aktobe, Kostanay and Karaganda region that returned to use over 2 mln ha or 60% of land," the Head of the Agency said.

Besides, as of August 10, 2012, about 1 mln ha of land was returned to state ownership.

"To date, it is necessary to renew land use agreements signed earlier and introduce the basic norms and requirements of the Rules of rational use of agricultural land into them," K.Otarov resumed.
