481 enterprises are registered in the existing SEZs in Kazakhstan

According to information given by the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan, in order to improve legislation on regulation and increase of efficiency of special economic zones, Kazakhstan adopted the law "On special economic zones in Kazakhstan".

Almaty. July 12. Kazakhstan Today - 481 enterprises are registered in the existing special economic zones in Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Today reports.

As Prime Minister's official website informs, these enterprises produced goods and services worth 60.6 billion tenge. 357 bln tenge was invested in the production.

According to information given by the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan, in order to improve legislation on regulation and increase of efficiency of special economic zones, Kazakhstan adopted the law "On special economic zones in Kazakhstan". Existing special economic zones can be divided into three groups: Industrial production zones - "Aktau Sea Port", "Ontustik", "National Industrial Petrochemical Technology Park", "Astana - New City", service - "Burabai", "Astana - New City", technology development zones - "Park of Innovation Technology".

Three new sector-oriented special economic zones were established in 2011: "Saryarka" SEZ was established in Karaganda region in the sphere of metallurgy and metalworking development, "Khorgos - Eastern Gate" SEZ was established in Almaty region in the sphere oftransport and logistical potential development, "Pavlodar" SEZ was established in Pavlodar region in the sphere of chemical and petrochemical sectors development.
