ADB, Kazakh Government launch knowledge sharing program

Within the program it is planned to implement joint research in the field of inclusive growth and diversification, institutional, and political development, regional cooperation and integration, competitiveness.

Almaty. June 19. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakh Minister of Economy and Budget Planning, Asian Development Bank's Governor for Kazakhstan Yerbolat Dossayev and Vice-President of ADB Zhao Xiaoyu signed a memorandum of understanding on the program of sharing knowledge and experience, according to the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning.

According to the Prime Minister's official website, within the program it is planned to implement joint research in the field of inclusive growth and diversification, institutional, and political development, regional cooperation and integration, competitiveness.

According to the ministry, funding will be provided on a parity basis, ie 50% by ADB and 50% by the Government of Kazakhstan during the period from 2013 to 2015.

"Kazakhstan attaches great importance to cooperation with the Asian Development Bank, which is supporting the modernization of the economy and the implementation of important social projects of our country," Dossayev said.

In turn, Zhao Xiaoyu said that "in countries with above-average income ADB considers cooperation beyond financial support, and stresses the importance of other models of partnership, in particular, the addition of advanced solutions to investment."

In general, the program aims at strengthening cooperation in the field of knowledge between the Government of Kazakhstan and ADB with a focus on the exchange of advanced knowledge, best practices, and strengthening the potential in order to enhance the efficiency of the economy and find innovative solutions.
