Competition Protection Agency directed proposal to increase export customs duties on petroleum products

The Agency for Competition Protection of Kazakhstan has directed a proposal to the government to increase export customs duties on gasoline, diesel fuel and oil. The head of Information Department of the agency, Zhandos Nurmahanbetov, informed at the briefing, the agency reports.

Almaty. August 6. Kazakhstan Today - The Agency for Competition Protection of Kazakhstan has directed a proposal to the government to increase export customs duties on gasoline, diesel fuel and oil. The head of Information Department of the agency, Zhandos Nurmahanbetov, informed at the briefing, the agency reports.

"Rates of customs duties existing now for export of mineral oil ($59.87 per ton) do not meet the interest of the exporters companies," Z. Nurmahanbetov informed.

"Export customs duties were once again increased on light mineral oil in the Russian Federation since August 1, 2009," he reminded.

"In this connection, the antimonopoly body has directed the proposal to the government of Kazakhstan to consider the question of increase of export customs duties on gasoline and diesel fuel and also oil export," Z. Nurmahanbetov informed.
