Construction of deep oil conversion complex started in Atyrau

The project partially implemented under financial support of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan is a final stage of the total reconstruction of the Atyrau oil refinery.

Almaty. September 11. Kazakhstan Today - A ceremony of laying the foundation stone of an integrated refining complex was held in the territory of the Atyrau Oil Refinery on September 10, 2012, Kazakhstan Today reports.

"The project partially implemented under financial support of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan is a final stage of the total reconstruction of the Atyrau oil refinery", the press-service of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan informed.

"The project of construction of deep oil conversion complex is primarily directed at improving environmental safety and rational use of raw materials. In addition, modernization of the old factory will reduce the country's dependence on foreign oil," Daulethan Kilybaev, Managing Director, Member of the Board of DBK said at the ceremony.

According to the press-service, the strategically important project is implemented under the state program FIID. This complex is designed to process 2 million 400 thousand tons of raw materials (oil, vacuum gas oil) per year. Its construction will increase production of gasoline, aviation and diesel fuel. All motor fuel will meet the level of the "Euro-5".

Earlier, on August 17, 2012, DBK signed a loan agreement for the construction of a deep oil refining with the Atyrau refinery. The loan amount was 252 million U.S. dollars.

LLP "Atyrau Refinery": the owner of 99.5% of the shares is "KazMunaiGas - processing and marketing" company. JSC "KazMunaiGas - processing and marketing" is a 100% subsidiary of JSC NC "KazMunaiGas".

JSC "Development Bank of Kazakhstan" was established in 2001. The main activities are development of industrial infrastructure and process industries, encouragement of foreign and domestic investment in the economy.
