Council of Executive Directors of World Bank approved $2.125 billion loan to Kazakhstan

The Council of Executive Directors of World Bank has approved $2.125 billion loan to Kazakhstan for the project of development highways South - West, the agency reports citing the message of World Bank in Kazakhstan.

Astana. May 4. Kazakhstan Today - The Council of Executive Directors of World Bank has approved $2.125 billion loan to Kazakhstan for the project of development highways South - West, the agency reports citing the message of World Bank in Kazakhstan.

World Bank will finance construction and repair works on the site of the road extending for 1062 kilometers between Shymkent and the border of Aktobe and Kyzylorda areas. The project is a part of the government program of the Republic of Kazakhstan on development of the international transit corridor for total cost of $7.5 billion on improvement of roads to the extent of 2800 kilometers of the Kazakhstan border with China (Horgos) up to the border with Russia (Zhaysan).
