Economic growth of EurAsEC states to be 1 - 4.5 % in 2009

Almaty. September 24. Kazakhstan Today - The economic growth in 2009 of the EurAsEC states to be from one up to 4.5 %. EurAsEC Secretary General, Tair Mansurov, informed during the Investment Forum Customs Union - Integration Break, the agency reports.

"Multilateral and versatile integration on the Eurasian space has allowed our countries making coordinated collective decisions, owing to which we can observe some positive signs of the economic revival in the middle of 2009. According to the forecasts, in the second half of 2009, the economic growth will be from one up to 4.5 %," T. Mansurov said, having added that it "will be reached in many respects due to implementation of the joint anti-crisis measures."

He informed, "In the crisis conditions, the countries of the community have faced economic problems, connected with slower development rates in the main industries of the economy, increase of inflation rate, and decrease of employment rate."

"GDP in the EurAsEC countries in the first half of 2009 has decreased by 9 %, industrial production - by 13 %, and investments into fixed capital - by 16 %," T. Mansurov said.
