EIA lowered forecast of world oil demand in second half of 2006

Almaty. August 9. Kazakhstan Today - The USA Energy Information Agency (EIA) lowered demand for oil in the world in the second half of 2006 up to 84.8 million barrels a day in the monthly oil review, the agency reports.

The parameter is lower by 600 thousand barrels a day than in July forecast of the Agency. EIA predicts the demand for oil in 2006 will reach 85.1 million barrels per day.

Oil extraction of 10 members of Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) reduced in July by 125 thousand barrels per day - up to 27.35 million barrels a day with comparison to 27.475 million barrels per day in June.

In view of Iraq, extraction of OPEC countries decreased up to 29.45 million barrels per day in July in comparison with 29.675 million barrels per day in June.
