GDP growth hit 5.1% in H1 2013

Gross domestic product amounted to 105.1%, the physical index of industrial production amounted to 101.8%.

Almaty. July 9. Kazakhstan Today - In the first half of 2013 Kazakhstan's GDP grew by 5.1%, Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov said at a Government meeting.

"Gross domestic product amounted to 105.1%, the physical index of industrial production amounted to 101.8%," Akhmetov said, according to the Prime Minister's official website.

"Investment in fixed assets was almost 8%," he said.

"Inflation for the half year was 2.7%. It is low enough inflation, I think, we need to continue to work with such a pace," the Prime Minister continued.

However, he drew attention to the difficult situation in the mining sector and "the oil and gas sector, which is going through difficult times."
