GDP in CIS countries in January - April, 2009 decreased by 9 in comparison with the similar period of the last year, the agency reports citing CIS Interstate Statistical Committee.

Almaty. June 3. Kazakhstan Today - GDP in CIS countries in January - April, 2009 decreased by 9 in comparison with the similar period of the last year, the agency reports citing CIS Interstate Statistical Committee.

According to the Statistical Committee, manufacture of industrial products in the CIS countries in January - April, 2009 was reduced by 16 %. Volume of transportation of cargoes by the transport enterprises (without taking into account pipelines) has decreased by 20 %.

Retail commodity turnover in real terms has decreased by 3 %, price indexes of manufacturers of industrial goods have gone down by 4 %. Consumer price indexes have grown by 14 %, the press release of the CIS Statistical Committee states.

"Volume of industrial production in the Commonwealth has decreased during more than six months in a row. Industrial production in January - April, 2009, as compared to January - April, 2008, on average, in the countries of the Commonwealth reduced by 16 % (in January - April, 2008 it increased by 7 %)," the press release informs.
