Gold and exchange currency reserves of Kazakhstan grew by 1.4 % in July

Almaty. July 18. Kazakhstan Today - In the first half of July, 2007 the international reserves of Kazakhstan (in current prices), including money of the National Fund (by preliminary data - $17 827.8 million) increased by 1.4 % and made $40 569.6 million, the agency reports referring to the message of the National Bank of the Republic.

In the current prices, net international reserves of the National Bank grew by 1.6 % (or by $365.6 million).

In real terms, net international reserves of the National Bank grew by 1.4 %, net actives in hard currency - by 1.5 %, actives in gold have not changed.

Growth of net international reserves of the National Bank in the first half of July, 2007 caused expansion of monetary base by 1.5 % (or by 24.3 billion KZT).

Purchase of currency in the internal currency market and inflow of currency on the government accounts, despite of carrying out of service of external debt operations of the Ministry of Finance and decrease in balance on the correspondent accounts of the banks of the second level in foreign currency in the National Bank led to growth of foreign currency reserves.

Thus, net foreign currency reserves (hard currency) grew by $323 million, actives in gold increased by $42.6 million as a result of growth of its price in the world markets by 2.93 %.
