Government plans GDP growth by 8.5-9 %

Kazakhstan government plans GDP growth will make 8.5-9 % by the results I half-year. Kazakh PM Daniyal Akhmetov informed today at Majilis session, the agency reports.

"Half-year will be completed with GDP growth in the ratio to the last year within 8.5 %- 9 %. Industry rates fall is to be considered as temporarily connected with oil extraction cut-back," D.Akhmetov said.

"Oil extraction reduction will be liquidated in II quarter 2006," he concluded.

As it was informed earlier, in January - March, 2006 real GDP growth in Kazakhstan made 7.6 %, thus the contribution of industrial production to GDP growth in comparison with the similar period of the last year decreased from 2.3 % to 0.7 %.
