Government to borrow $500 million from Asian Development Bank to finance budget deficit

Astana. October 20. Kazakhstan Today - The government of Kazakhstan will borrow $500 million from the Asian Development Bank to finance budget deficit. The Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan, Bolat Zhamishev, informed after the government session, the agency reports.

He also said, "As a whole, the level of government's external debt is safe, but there is a question about the size of the budget deficit."

"The budget deficit this year will be increased up to 4.1 % of GDP and since 2011 it will be decreasing down to 3.8 % and further to 3.5 %," B. Zhamishev said.
