Grain crops sowed on area of 15.4 hectares - Agriculture Ministry

Grain crops have been sowed on the area of 15.4 hectares in Kazakhstan as of October 18, the agency reports.

Astana. October 19. Kazakhstan Today - Grain crops have been sowed on the area of 15.4 hectares in Kazakhstan as of October 18, the agency reports.

According to the Director of Agricultural Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, in 2007 agricultural crops have been sowed in the Republic on the area of 18.9 million hectares, grain - on the area of 15.4 hectares, including wheat - 12.9 million hectares; oil-yielding crops 673 thousand hectares, sugar beet - 13.7 thousand hectares, cotton - 205 thousand hectares, vegetable- melons and gourds - 144 thousand hectares, potato - 156 thousand hectares.

As of today, in all oblasts of the Republic, except for Almaty and Kyzylorda, where harvesting of corn and rice comes to the end, harvesting is completed.
