Growth of activity of industrial sector of Great Britain slowed down in April

According to the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply/NTC, growth of activity in industrial sector of Great Britain slowed down in April, 2008 in comparison with the last month, the agency reports referring to Reuters agency.

Almaty. May 4. Kazakhstan Today - According to the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply/NTC, growth of activity in industrial sector of Great Britain slowed down in April, 2008 in comparison with the last month, the agency reports referring to Reuters agency.

"Index PMI reflecting industrial activity decreased in April up to 51.0 points from 51.3 points in March. The analysts expected that it would make 50.8 points. Value above 50 points indicates growth of the sector, as a whole, below - indicates recession. April value of the index became the lowest since January of 2008," Reuters noted.

The component of cost prices has grown up to 61.9 points from 60.6 points, becoming the highest in the history of data collection. The component of procurement prices has increased up to 78.5 points from 76.7.

The indications that the companies transfer growing expenses for raw material on buyers can cause anxiety of the Bank of England that tries to protect the economy from the consequences of credit crisis, but at the same time not to allow increase of rate of inflation.
