IMF lowered forecast of economic growth in 2009 from 2.2 % to 0.5 %

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has lowered its forecast of economic growth in 2009 from 2.2 % to 0.5 %, the agency reports citing RBC.

Almaty. January 29. Kazakhstan Today - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has lowered its forecast of economic growth in 2009 from 2.2 % to 0.5 %, the agency reports citing RBC.

"The International Monetary Fund has lowered its forecast of economic growth in 2009 by 1.7 percentage items in comparison with the last forecast published in November, 2008, - from 2.2 % to 0.5 %," the edition informs.

Simultaneously, the IMF has lowered by 0.8 percentage items the forecast of economic growth for 2010 - from 3.8 % up to 3 %.
