Almaty. August 17. Kazakhstan Today - The index of actual volume of the industrial production made 101.3% in January-July 2012 compared to the corresponding period of 2011, Kazakhstan Today reports.

The Ministry of Industry and New Technologies held a session of the board in Astana. The results of industrial development of the country for the first half of the year were summed up at the session. Besides, new tasks in light of the instructions of the President given in his Address to the Nation were defined as well, the Prime Minister's official website writes.

While opening the session of the board, Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev said that positive results were achieved in the industrial development of the country over the first half of the year.

The production output in the processing industry increased by 2.1%. The production of food, drinks, light and chemical industry products, engineering and oil and gas products has increased as well.

Production of high-tech products of the metallurgy industry increased from 20747.9 thousand tons to 21310.9 thousand tons. The production output in the light industry made 20.6 billion tenge, in the engineering sector - 282 billion tenge.

Besides, the labor productivity reached 8.5 thousand U.S. dollars per person increasing by 105.5% and it also increased by 163.1% against the level of 2008. It is worth noting that such positive results were achieved due to an increase in production of computers, electronic and optical products by 20.4%, electric equipment by 38.8%, vehicles, trailers and semitrailers twofold, repair and installation of devices and equipment by 14.7%.

The index of actual volume in the construction and wood-working industry made 102.3%, the production output reached 125.5 billion tenge.

The production of medicaments made 13249 mln tenge in January-June 2012. The chemical industry's production increased by 3.1% compared to the corresponding period of 2011. The export of high-added value chemical products exceeded 600 mln tenge.

It was also said at the session that 443 projects worth 1.8 trillion tenge were put into service within the Industrialization Map over the last 2.5 years. More than 46 thousand new permanent jobs were created. 54 projects totaling 31 billion tenge were launched in the first half of the year. Over 4 thousand permanent jobs were created.

Besides, the session participants discussed the issues of attraction of investments, implementation of innovative projects, export support, further development of special economic zones as well as increase of the Kazakh content in state procurements of goods and services.

Summing up the session results, Minister Asset Issekeshev emphasized that the main tasks of the Ministry for the second half of the year would be effective implementation of all instructions of the President, including implementation of the Nationwide Action Plan on implementation of the President's Address to the Nation and timely commissioning of new productions within the framework of the Industrialization Map.
