Inflow of direct investments from Turkey to Kazakhstan reached $1.36 billion

Inflow of direct investments from Turkey to Kazakhstan for the last 15 years has reached $1.36 billion, the agency reports citing the press service of Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan.

Astana. January 27. Kazakhstan Today - Inflow of direct investments from Turkey to Kazakhstan for the last 15 years has reached $1.36 billion, the agency reports citing the press service of Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan.

"According to the National Bank of Kazakhstan, for the period since 1993 till March, 2008 total inflow of direct investments from Turkey to Kazakhstan has made $1.36 billion (for 1st quarter of 2008 - $34.5 million)," the press release states.

"Turkey is one of the important and large trade and economic partners of Kazakhstan. According to Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan, trade turnover of the countries for January - September, 2008 totaled $2.224 billion (export - $1.522 billion, import - $702 million)," Majilis press service informed.

According to the press service, Kazakhstan exports raw goods (oil, metals). Turkey imports construction materials, production of chemical manufacture, and textiles.
