Kazakhmys on to meet FY copper cathode production forecast

The company said the copper outlook remains positive and its growth projects are moving ahead on schedule. Full-year copper cathode production is projected to lie between 285,000 and 295,000 tonnes.

London. October 29. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhmys Plc, a UK-based copper miner with main assets in Kazakhstan, said it remains on track to meet its full-year copper cathode production targets, driven by a growth in output during the third quarter.

According to RTT News, "the company said the copper outlook remains positive and its growth projects are moving ahead on schedule. Full-year copper cathode production is projected to lie between 285,000 and 295,000 tonnes."

"For the first nine months of 2012, total copper product sales volumes were 17 kt below the comparative period a year ago, due to a 13 kt drop in cathode production and a build up of finished goods awaiting delivery to customers," the online edition reports.

"Kazakhmys anticipates a further reduction in the finished goods inventory built up in the first half of 2012 over the remainder of 2012. Copper rod production and sales remain below capacity as comparatively more favourable terms were obtained for copper cathode sales, the company added," according to the article.
