Kazakhstan, Cuba to sign trade and economic cooperation agreement

Astana. June 6. Kazakhstan Today – Today Kazakh Prime Minister Daniyal Akhmetov met Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Cuba Teresita Capote Camacho. Kazakhstan and Cuba will sign trade and economic cooperation agreement in the near future, the agency reports referring to the President’s press service.

During the meeting the parties discussed the questions concerning strengthening of relations between Cuba and Kazakhstan and exchanged opinions regarding prospects of cooperation in the sphere of public health services.

“Cuba possesses public health services system. Cuba has reached the lowest infant mortality rate in the region – 6.5 %. Average life expectancy in Cuba - 78 years," she explained.

Kazakh PM emphasized aspiration of Kazakhstan to deepen bilateral cooperation and noted that experience of Cuba in medicine development represents special interest for the country. D. Akhmetov informed that Kazakhstan governmental delegation headed by Health Minister Yerbolat Dosayev plans to visit Cuba.

In end of the meeting Teresita Capote Camacho noted friendship relations of two countries. "Cuba has a huge feeling of gratitude to the countries of former Soviet Union including Kazakhstan, countries that offered a helping hand to our country in the days of economic blockade," the Ambassador said.
