Kazakhstan expects economy growth in 2009

Kazakhstan expects growth of economy in 2009 and does not plan to decrease tax load. The Minister of Economy and Budgetary Planning of Kazakhstan, Bahyt Sultanov, informed in the interview to Reuters, the agency reports citing press service of the Economy Ministry.

Almaty. June 4. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan expects growth of economy in 2009 and does not plan to decrease tax load. The Minister of Economy and Budgetary Planning of Kazakhstan, Bahyt Sultanov, informed in the interview to Reuters, the agency reports citing press service of the Economy Ministry.

The Economy Minister sees risks for the national economy in instability of the world prices and demand, however, he confirmed that the government expects 1% GDP growth this year in comparison with 3.2 % growth in 2008 due to the anti-recessionary measures for the sum of $25 billion," the Economy Ministry press service informs.

"We will keep our forecast the same - 1 % GDP growth," B. Sultanov aid.

"The world crisis has affected the economy of Kazakhstan that depends on the world prices for oil and metals. The economy drop in the first quarter has been 2.2 % in comparison with its growth by 6 % in 2008. IMF expects decrease of economic growth of Kazakhstan by 2 % in 2009.
