Kazakhstan in short supply of qualitative and inexpensive meat for Russian market

Kazakhstan businessmen do not have sufficient volumes of qualitative and competitive meat for the Russian market. The Responsible Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Evgeniy Aman, said during an online-conference today, the agency reports.

The Responsible Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Evgeniy Aman, said during an online-conference today, the agency reports.

"The Russian market... is big, but does not have enough amount of beef meat. This niche could be used by the Kazakhstan businessmen. We stimulate business to occupy this niche," E. Aman said. The negotiating process in regards to the access of the Russian market has been very difficult.

"We are not in a position to seriously market ourselves due to a number of reasons: we do not have sufficient volumes of high-quality and price competitive meat. Manufacture of meat and our manufacturing method is outdated. Secondly, meat-packing plants, in their majority, do not correspond to the technological requirements. Thirdly, the Russian market have a deficit of cooled meat and fresh meat, which requires a difficult technological chain of manufacture and transportation."
