Kazakhstan increases grain harvest in net weight by 2.1 times

The current grain harvest in the country hit an unprecedented record rate. During the 2011 harvest campaign 29.7 million tons of grain has been gathered in and the yield totaled 18.5 hundredweights per hectare.

Astana. December 7. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan has increased this year's grain harvest in net weight by 2.1 times, Kazakhstan Today reports.

According to Sabit Kashkimbaev, Director of Grain Resource Management at Food Corporation, Kazakhstan has harvested 26 million tons of grain in net weight this year, Caspionet reported.

The current grain harvest in the country hit an unprecedented record rate. During the 2011 harvest campaign 29.7 million tons of grain has been gathered in and the yield totaled 18.5 hundredweights per hectare.

Last year, Kazakhstan harvested 13.8 million tons of grain with an average yield of 9 hundredweights per hectare.
