Kazakhstan international reserves decreased by 3.1% in Sept.

The international reserves of Kazakhstan (in current prices), including money of the National fund (preliminary data - $18 408.8 million), decreased by 3.1% and made $38 393.5 million, the press service of the National Bank said on Tuesday.

Almaty. September 19. Kazakhstan Today - The international reserves of Kazakhstan (in current prices), including money of the National fund (preliminary data - $18 408.8 million), decreased by 3.1% and made $38 393.5 million, the press service of the National Bank said on Tuesday.

National Bank net international reserves decrease in the first half of September 2007 caused by monetary base decrease by 6.7% (or by KZT 116.6 billion).

In current prices net international reserves of the National Bank decreased by 5.9% (or by $1255.3 million).

Sale of currency in the domestic market and reduction of second level banks correspondent accounts of foreign currency in National Bank led to net foreign currency reserves decrease.

Sale of currency in the domestic market and reduction in balance on the correspondent accounts of second level banks in foreign currency in the National Bank led to net foreign currency reserves decrease.

Thus, net foreign currency reserves decreased by $1 278.4 million, gold assets grew by $23.1 million in the result of held operations and gold price growth on world markets by 6.5%.

In constant prices National Bank net international reserves fell down by 6.3%, net assets in foreign currency by 6.5%, gold assets by 4.6%.
