Kazakhstan lacks raw materials for manufacturing industry

Almaty. May 13. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan lacks its own raw materials for the manufacturing industry. The President of the Union of Farmers of Kazakhstan informed on May 6 at the meeting of the Club of Political Decision Institute, Auezhan Darinov, the agency reports citing the institute.

"Kazakhstan lacks its own raw materials for the manufacturing industry. The existing meat packing plants are loaded with raw materials - live cattle (large horned cattle, pigs, sheep) by no more than 40 - 50 %. There are bases to believe that under construction feeding platforms with the capacity of 5 - 10 thousand head of large horned cattle will not be provided with enough cattle. These platforms will be empty, or will not work at its full capacity," A. Darinov said.

"It is illogical and inefficient to allocate huge budgetary funds for construction of the new feeding platforms, meat-processing factories, and slaughter shops when we have a deficit of raw materials."
