Kazakhstan not plan currency reform - National Bank

The National Bank affirms that Kazakhstan does not plan any currency reform.

Astana. October 19. Kazakhstan Today - The National Bank affirms that Kazakhstan does not plan any currency reform. Vice chairman of the National Bank Daniyar Akishev stated today at the plenary session of the senate.

"The National Bank declares that neither denomination, nor any reforms will be carried out," D. Akishev said.

"An existing nominal number of banknotes and coins of the national currency KZT corresponds to the price level in the economy," he emphasized.

D. Akishev noted, "only last year new design of banknotes has been introduced."

"These banknotes have been in circulation less than a year. By experience of other countries term of circulation of banknotes of a certain design makes at least 7 years," D. Akishev said.
